Finger PuppetsBelow is one method of making finger puppets. For illustration purposes I am showing how to make a cow. This project is better for slightly older children, although the general method could be adapted and simplified for younger children, for instance the pieces could be glued together with PVA glue rather than sewn. To make this finger puppet you will need black felt, white felt, pink felt and small black beads. Also a needle and some thread, and some PVA glue. (1) Make a template before you start. Draw around your child's finger. This would be the equivelant of the dotted line shown in the picture below, and will be the line you sew along. Draw a further line around this, about 5mm away from the first, (see the left hand picture below). ![]() (2) Use the template to cut out two pieces of white felt. Sew along the dotted line and then turn the puppet inside out, so the seams are hidden as shown in the picture on the above right. (3) Glue on black felt patches to make the cow's markings. Add a pink felt circle for the cow's nose. ![]() (4) Sew on two triangles to make the ears, made from black felt. Sew on beads for eyes and another two for nostrils. The finger puppet is finished!
