Chocolate Krispie Cakes
A simple recipe for this children's favourite treat:
3 oz Chocolate (plain, dark or milk)
3 oz Syrup
3 oz Butter
3 oz Rice Krispies or cornflakes
Chocolate chips or smarties (optional)
Put a pyrex bowl in a pan of water and bring to the boil. Break up the chocolate and put it into the bowl. Stir the chocolate until it has melted
Melt the butter and syrup together in a pan. Keep the heat low to medium to avoid burning.
Mix this mixture into the chocolate and then stir in the Rice Krispies or cornflakes with a tablespoon. Add in chocolate chips or smarties if desired.
Spoon into paper cases (as you would do for making cupcakes). If you have no paper cases, you can place spoonfuls of the mixture onto grease proof paper.
Leave the krispie cakes in the refidgerator to cool.
