  • Make a fridge magnet

The instruction's below are for children to make a magnet with their name on, to stick pieces of their artwork to the fridge. The method could be used for making many different designs - try using different materials such as card, plastic or funky foam.

For this design you will need:
  • Green card

  • White card

  • Yellow gel pen, felt tip or pencil

  • Paperclip or safety pin

  • Tacky or PVA glue

  • Sellotape

  • Peel off lettering (or a glitterpen)

  • A magnet

  • A flower shaped punch

  • Decorative scissors

  • Cut out a piece of green card measuring 3cm x 4cm and a piece of white card measuring 2cmx3cm. Use decorative scissors on the edges.

  • Stick the two pieces of card together. Attach sticky lettering with the child's name on, or write the name out in glittery pen. Peel off lettering can be bought from any craft shops that sell card making and scrapbooking supplies.

  • Punch out some flower shapes from the white card and glue them around the edge. Use a yellow pen or pencil to colour in the centre of the flowers.

  • Attach a paperclip or safety pin to the back with sellotape. This can then be attached to the magnet!
